Is this the starting lineup?

Only one week for the end of the summer, one week for the end of this endless waiting for football lovers. La Liga will start next saturday, August 30th, with the opening match: Espanyol – Valladolid, but it won´t be until sunday that it will start for Osasuna.

Reyno de Navarra stadium will receive Villarreal, second best team last season, in a vey difficult debut for the red team. Osasuna´s coach, Cuco Ziganda, has shown us some clues about the starting lineup for this first fixture and what it´s sure is that some of the new men will be playing.

Ricardo -recently pardoned by the comitee from his one week ban- will surely be the goalkeeper. The defending line will probably be mostly for last season´s players: Azpilicueta at the right side, Monreal at the left and Miguel Flaño and maybe Roversio in the middle. The veteran Patxi Puñal will be in charge of inner midfield with the iranian Nekounam, who has done a very nice job during the preparation.

What´s not so clear is who will be playing in the attack. There has been many incorporations in this line and we´re doubtful even about the strategy Osasuna is going to use. What seems sure by now is that Masoud Shojaei will be there, maybe in the right wing or as second striker, due to his great performances in last matches. Also Juanfran may play at the right side and Jaroslav Plasil or Delporte will be in charge of the left wing. Kike Sola, Portillo or maybe both at a time will be the scorers.

What we can surely confirm is that Osasuna will have an iranian accent this season and the contribution of Masoud and Nekounam will be quite significant in the creation zone, both for midfield and attack. Hope all of them will give us many glory days.
