Bad luck

September 25, 2008 por jsnagore

The beggining of the season is being hard for Osasuna. Four games played and only three points in the clasification by now. The last game, against Deportivo de La Coruña, was the third draw and the first scoreless tie, but the red players deserved the victory.

Masoud Shojaei played the 90 minutes for the first time and he completed a quite good performance, although he missed a nice chance to score in the first half. He showed everyone again his dribbling skills, but most of his attempts didn´t ended with real dangerous moves. At the end of the second half, he began to look tired.

Javad Nekounam didn´t played as well as he uses to -although he also did a nice performance- and most of the deffensive job had to be resolved by his partner at middle field, Patxi Puñal. The brasilian Roversio was once again the king of the back line and he is becoming one of the most important players for the coach, Cuco Ziganda.

The match against Deportivo was an special ocasion for Oier Sanjurjo, who made his debut with the first team after a few years playing with the B squad, Osasuna Promesas. On the other hand we have the injury of Natxo Monreal, who can be out for about two months. That would probably become a chance to another of the new faces, the portuguese Tiago Gomes.

Osasuna faces now a very important match against Numancia from Soria, a direct rival in the battle to keep a place in La Liga and one of the most humble teams of Spain.

Osasuna needs a goalscorer. We definitely owned Deportivo yesterday, all it takes is one goal. Numancia seem to have a worse defence than deportivo, and I think it is about time for a goalscoring festival.

    A supernew fan of Osasuna.

I watched the four games that have been played so far. Yes; they’ve only managed to pickup up three out of 12 points but they’ve been very unlucky to have done so. Aside from the game with Valencia, I wouldn’t have been surprised to have seen Osasuna win their other games. My point is that it’s much too soon to judge. This Osasuna team isn’t a weak team and this will be seen over the long run.

Thanks for putting up an English blog for your non-Spanish speaking fans.

I agree it´s much too soon to judge Osasuna´s play.
Now our players are not lucky for to obtains goals, like all the last season, but they play well, they don´t play bad.
